We're in the depths of winter, and any moisture in the air seems to have gone into hibernation.

There's a good chance your skin is feeling tight, dry, and flaky from head to toe! With some adjustments to your regular skincare routine, then you should be feeling dry skin relief in no time.

Now, lets start from the beginning:

Step 1: Upgrade your facial cleanser to something more hydrating.

At Bouncy, we're firm believers in a double cleanse routine. Make-up, SPF, and general dirt and grime are best removed first with an oil cleanser before moving onto a water based cleanser for more oily/combination skin types.

The Om Organics Kaolin + Coconut Milk Radiant Cleansing Balm is our favourite oil cleanser right now. If you have dry or combination skin, you're going to love how hydrating and nourishing this is for your skin. Plus, it also doubles as a highly nourishing face mask.

For a secondary cleanser, we have been using the Kiramoon Silkie Rinse. This removes any final residue without stripping our skin. Plus, it's one of the cutest products on our shelves.

Step 2: Layer on an ampoule or serum for an extra hydration boost, before your heavier moisture layers go on your face.

If your skin is irritated from the dry, harsh winter weather, try out the Real Aqua Balancing Ampoule from Acwell. This ampoule has potent anti-inflammatory benefits to help soothe the skin.

Looking for a serum that packs more of a punch for mature skin types? Try out the Prickly Pear + Schisandra Youth Concentrate serum from Om Organics. This serum is best for those looking to take a proactive approach to aging skin, reducing dark spots and improving the appearance of scars.

Step 3: Lock in moisture with a hard-working cream.

The start of our hydrating routine right now is the Radiance Grape Stem Cell + Squalane Cream from Three Ships. Not only ultra hydrating, it contains stem cells from grapes, which help protect skin from UV damage throughout the day.

Looking for something a bit lighter? If you have acne prone skin, you still need moisture! Try out the Whirl Facial Moisturizer from Blume. This moisturizer is perfect for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Step 4: Protect your skin from UV rays.

It doesn't matter if it's winter, the sun can damage your skin even without it being a sunny day. Some of the worst burns can occur on a ski hill!

A super popular option, for good reason, is the Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon.

Lightweights and creamy, this is great as a final layer in your winter morning skincare routine. Plus, make-up layers easily overtop. So you don't need to worry about pilling or make-up clumping.

Step 5: Seal in moisture before bed with a sleep mask.

Don't let your skin dry out overnight! For your PM skincare routine, finish up with a sleep mask or pack, to seal in all your moisture layers and keeping hydrate skin.

The Cica Sleeping Mask from Laneige can help strengthen your moisture barrier. This is perfect for sensitive or dryer skin types, or anyone using harsher skin care products such as tretinoin.

Step 6: Don't forget the rest of your body!

We all tend to focus on our facial care, but we shouldn't forget about our body skin care.

If you have keratosis pilaris (red bumps that often appear on the backs of arms and legs), the winter season can be especially harsh on your skin. One products that has helped us at Bouncy is the Nourishing Micronutrient Wash from Hello Klean

This cleanser helps to prevent hard water from settling on your skin, clogging pores and further exacerbating dry skin. Plus, it's quite the aesthetic product, fun to use, and looks great in your shower.

We like to follow this up with the Body Serum from Beauty From Bees. This serum is made without water, so a little goes a long way. It leaves skin with long lasting hydrating, and no lingering film - which other intense body creams tend to do.

Plus, it comes in a variety of scents for every preference.
